Assignment-Checklist
Four step checklist before you decide to make an Assignment for the MoJ2009 competition.
First decide the kind of assignment you want to make :
There are three types of assignments:
- Basic API Assignments take some part of the J2SE API and build an assignment around that.
- Algorithmic assignments focus on the implementation of a certain pattern or algorithm.
- Simulation in which some business case is simulated.
Secondly you should think of an interesting story which sets the scene of the assignment.
Thirdly you should review the process of developing an assignment for the competition.
- You: Contact us with your idea for the Assignment.
- We: Check if no other assignments with the same topic are being made.
- Us: Come to agreement on when a playable version of the assignment will be available.
- We: Playtest the assignment and give feedback.
- You: Fine tune the assignment.
- Us: Repeat steps 3..5 until perfection is (almost) reached.
- Assignment Complete !
Finally have a look in your agenda to see if you have sufficient time to make and playtest the assignment. The following timeline may help:

- Jul 2007 : Preparations start.
- Oct 2007 : Talk to us @ NL-JUG JFall
- 09 Nov 2007 : Deadline for Assignment Submission.
- 10 Nov 2007 : Play and load testing.
- 17 Nov 2007 : Assignment lineup determination.
- 18 Nov 2007 : MoJ2007 final cdrom is burned.
- 22 Nov 2007 : Masters of Java 2007
